Wood Bleach

Product Description

  •  WoodKare Wood Bleach uses a dual solution premix process that gives tight control of the bleaching action.
  • The basic principle of WoodKare Wood Bleach is supplied in 2 containers  abeled “A” and “B”.
  • The “B” formulation draws the natural wood color to the surface while the “A” formulation bleaches it out.
  • As the amount of color varies with the species of wood, the percentage of  “A” to “B” used in making the solution must also be varied for best result.
  • DO NOT USE WoodKare Wood Bleach in conjunction with coatings containing toluene disocyanates. Pronounced yellowing will occur.

Application

  • Mix equal parts of the “A” and “B” solution together in a plastic container.  (Always mix with small volume to minimizes wastage).
  • If the wood to be bleached has a lot of natural color, the proportion of  “A” to one part of “B” and the wood will still be neutral when dry.
  • Second application can only be applied 20 minutes after the first coat.
  • Apply the mixed solution with a synthetic bristle or sponge brush.
  • Wet the wood surface thoroughly, do not flood.
  • Allow to dry at least 24 hours following last application to ensure complete  neutralization of the bleach.
  • Force drying by heat up to 71°C will speed up the drying and neutralization.
  • Finally, allow wood to complete dry at least 48 hours then only can apply stain and  finish solvent water based products.
  • To apply wood bleach, proper safety precautions and approved respirator is necessary.
  • Stainless spray steel gun is applicable.

User-Friendly

Use as an economical, effective way to remove natural color from wood. After wood is completely dry it leaves the surface neutral and compatible with all WoodKare stain or finish applied over it. The degree of bleaching is controllable from a light surface bleaching to a complete stripping. Simply vary the proportions of the two component parts of the bleaching solution or make successive second applications after the previous has been absorbed into the surface.  Wood such as oak and mahogany can be bleached out to permit the appearance of “blood” wood, or beautifully enhance the look of WoodKare white Gel Stain.
