Team Wood-Kare Visits the Orang Asli Museum inGombak with MTIB

On 6 June 2026, Team Wood-Kare (M) Sdn. Bhd. had the opportunity to participate in an ESG programme organised by the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) in Gombak, Selangor, in conjunction with World Wood Day 2026.

The programme brought together approximately 40 participants, including representatives from MTIB and Malaysia’s timber industry, for a meaningful day focused on community, culture, nature and sustainability.

Connecting the Timber Industry with Nature

As a company with more than 30 years of experience in the wood coating and wood finishing industry, WoodKare has always had a close connection with timber and natural materials.

This programme provided our team with an opportunity to step beyond our daily work with wood stain, wood coating and wood care products and gain a deeper appreciation of the environment and communities connected to Malaysia’s natural resources.

Activities during the programme included tree planting, exploration of local flora and fauna, traditional skill demonstrations and cultural heritage sharing with the Orang Asli community.

A Meaningful Visit to the Orang Asli Museum in Gombak

One of the highlights for Team WoodKare was the opportunity to visit the Orang Asli Museum in Gombak and learn more about the traditions, skills and cultural heritage of Malaysia’s indigenous communities.

The experience was a valuable reminder that wood is more than just a material.

For generations, natural resources such as timber have been closely connected to traditional craftsmanship, shelter, tools, culture and everyday life.

For WoodKare, understanding and appreciating this relationship strengthens our commitment to responsible wood care and wood finishing.

Supporting Sustainability & Responsible Wood Use

At WoodKare, our business revolves around helping to enhance, maintain and protect timber through suitable wood stain, wood coating and wood care products.

By extending the service life of existing timber surfaces and encouraging proper wood maintenance, we believe the wood finishing industry can also play a role in promoting more responsible use of natural materials.

Participating in programmes such as this allows our team to continue learning about the wider relationship between timber, people, culture and the environment.
